Struck Capital is a Los Angeles-based venture capital firm specializing in Seed and pre-Seed B2B investments.

The Opportunity

Struck Capital works primarily with young founders and small startups, so there is a constant need to hire talented people and help grow the companies with the right type of people who can succeed in the sometimes chaotic and undefined world of working and running a startup company.

Built off of the concepts in Evan’s book, Finding Intangibles, around team building and talent acquisition, the goal was to provide a presentation to key stakeholders at the firm’s portfolio companies to educate on best practices used by elite organizations at the highest level of sports and give insight into how they could apply the same principles of looking beyond a person’s resume in their own hiring efforts.

The Results

In this presentation, Evan Burk talked about the team building strategies outlined in his new book, Finding Intangibles, the character traits that separate elite performers and winning teams, and how intangibles can be a competitive advantage for any individual or team operating in today's highly competitive business environments.
